As the year quickly comes to an end, I’ve found myself stepping outside to enjoy the fresh air and clear my head. I’ve had so much on my mind as I think about all of my mistakes, all of my accomplishments and all of the changes that have happened in my life.
It’s hard to believe that tomorrow will be the start of a whole new year. I’m not one to make a list of specific New Year’s Resolutions, instead I just enjoy the fresh start of the New Year and hope to make it the best yet.
I wish you all a wonderful New Years Eve full of happiness and celebration.
With Christmas and New Years, comes a whole lot of sparkle and shine. My eyes light up when I walk into the store at the beginning of the holiday season and see all the sequins tops and dresses, the sparkly shoes and shiny metallic clutches.
I was so excited when I found this adorable sequins red top at Wet Seal while Black Friday shopping. I paired it with a black blazer, white skinny jeans and black peep toe heels for a Christmas Eve church service.
Here’s some inspiration for this sparkle & shine holiday season:
I’m having mixed emotions with this whole holiday season. Of course, I love Christmas and I’m excited to spend time with my family, but it just doesn’t feel like Christmas. I think it’s mostly the lack of snow. I mean my room and car are full of wrapped Christmas presents and I’ve watched about 20 Christmas movies by now and I’ve lit the Christmas lights every night. There’s just something missing.
I feel like I’m almost more excited about New Years than I am about Christmas, which is silly because I don’t even know what I’m doing yet. I’m just excited about dressing up and going out somewhere, anywhere. Last New Years, I was stuck in the dorms by myself. Although I still ended up having fun that night cranking the music and dancing in my room, it’s just not the way New Years should be.
I saw “New Years Eve” the other night and I loved it. It made me want to take a spontaneous one day trip to NYC on New Years Eve. One year I’ll be in the city of dreams for New Years.
It’s been unusually warm for this time of year and with Christmas at the end of the week, we are all impatiently waiting for snow. After all, what’s Christmas in Minnesota without snow?
I put this outfit together for a day of shopping with my mom. I found this dress while on vacation in Wisconsin Dells this summer and added tights to make it more winter appropriate. Although I still wore a coat, it was warm enough to go without. After shopping, we made it to the park just in time to take pictures before the sun set below the treeline.
As much as I hate letting my laundry pile up in my hamper, I love how it forces me to be creative with my outfits. While my closet was overflowing with dirty clothes this last week, I searched for something to wear. I found this gray dress that I bought at TJMaxx a year ago and decided to pair it with my new tights from Forever 21.
I love the cinched details on the sleeves and the bottom of the dress. The little bows add a sweet and playful touch to the look.
And of course, boots made the most sense as I wandered through the park after our first real snow.
